This dive site, Dari Laut, is considered the only true wreck dive in Anilao, Philippines. It is an open wreck, originally a barge that was repurposed as a floating resort during the 1970s. Divers can explore the remnants of this unique vessel, which now serves as an artificial reef, providing interesting structures for navigation and exploration underwater.
The site is rich in marine life, offering typical macro diving opportunities for photographers. Divers can expect to encounter schools of batfish and trumpet fish, as well as fascinating creatures like frogfish and electric clams. The abundant small stuff makes it a prime location for detailed underwater observation.
The best time to visit Anilao, and thus Dari Laut, is typically during the dry season from November to May when conditions are generally calmer with better visibility. This wreck offers a unique experience beyond the typical reef dives of the region, making it an excellent addition to any diver's itinerary in Anilao. Freedivers will also find the 25-meter maximum depth accessible and rewarding for exploration.
