About this dive site

This dive site is an L-shaped cave, often referred to as "The Tunnel", located beneath Gato Island. The entrance journey leads through a 30-meter tunnel teeming with marine life including various crabs, lobsters, cardinalfish, and potentially large pufferfish and bamboo sharks. A notable feature within the cave is a lightening window on the right side, providing excellent conditions for underwater photography. Divers can explore to the north-west (NW) from this point. The site is particularly known for its whitetip sharks; they may be observed in concealed corners close to divers. At the exit of the cave, there are overhangs and swim-throughs accessible even to less experienced divers, where juvenile whitetips often rest under rocks. This offers a unique opportunity to observe these sharks up close.
