About this dive site

This dive site, Nindot Cantil, offers a delightful underwater experience beginning with an attractive shallow reef at 5-8 meters before gently sloping down. As a well-preserved marine protected park, it boasts a thriving ecosystem. Navigation is straightforward, following the reef's natural contour from the vibrant shallow section to deeper parts.

The marine life here is exceptionally diverse and abundant. Divers can expect to encounter large schools of fusiliers, impressive groupers, and various rabbitfish swimming amidst the rich coral gardens. The site is home to both soft and hard corals in a spectrum of colors, with larger gorgonias found in the deeper sections. Macro enthusiasts will appreciate spotting creatures like Zanzibar shrimps nestled in whip corals, while ancient giant clams peacefully reside in the shallows.

The best time to visit Nindot Cantil, like much of the Philippines, is during the dry season from November to May, offering optimal conditions and visibility. The highlight is the vibrant, healthy coral reef and the sheer abundance of fish, providing encounters from the smallest macro life to larger schooling fish. Both snorkelers and freedivers will find the shallow, clear waters and abundant life highly rewarding, while scuba divers can explore the gentle slope for a longer bottom time.
