About this dive site
This dive site is named for the expansive sand banks that characterize its location. It shares proximity with Sahara Deep, situated just to the south. Divers are encouraged to explore the seabed, specifically searching around remnants of cement blocks and scattered glass bottles – these areas often host a diverse array of marine life. A notable feature of this site is a healthy artificial reef located further north. This reef provides abundant habitat for numerous reef fish species, along with opportunities to encounter octopuses. The sand banks offer a relatively gentle dive experience, while the artificial reef presents more varied conditions and potentially increased fish activity.
