About this dive site

This dive site, known as Secret Village, is a deep spotted reef located off the coast of the Philippines. Divers are advised to go deep to fully experience the site, with a recommendation to use Nitrox for optimal exploration of its deeper sections up to 30 meters, though the maximum recorded depth is 23 meters. Navigation begins from the boat mooring, heading straight over a sandy floor in an easterly direction. The dive concludes in the shallower parts of the main reef.

Hidden from the shallows, the reef system here is home to various marine species. Divers can expect to encounter vibrant groups of lippfishes, impressive barramundi groupers, and graceful stingrays patrolling the reef and sandy areas.

The best time to dive Secret Village is during high tide when the current flows north, creating a drift dive opportunity. Due to the recommended deep profile and potential currents, divers should diligently monitor their no-decompression limits and air consumption. While the main attraction is deeper, the shallow main reef offers a concluding point, though the site is primarily suited for advanced scuba divers focusing on the deeper reef rather than snorkelers or freedivers.
