This dive site, Balaton Trzebinia - Baza Nurkowa, is a former quarry located in the center of Trzebinia, Poland. It functions as a public bathing area during summer months, requiring divers to obtain permission from the mayor of Trzebinia prior to entering the water. Entry is convenient on the left side of the basin, where submerged tracks gently descend to the bottom, offering an easy navigation path that extends for approximately 5 meters in length, providing a point of interest for exploration.
As a freshwater quarry, the site is home to typical aquatic life found in Polish reservoirs. Divers may encounter various species of freshwater fish, such as perch or pike, along with a variety of aquatic plants that colonize the bottom and submerged structures, though specific species are not extensively documented.
The best time to visit Balaton Trzebinia is during the warmer summer months, aligning with its public bathing operations. However, visibility might be reduced due to increased surface activity. Divers should be vigilant of people jumping into the water from inflatables, which can pose a surface hazard. Obtaining the necessary permit from the mayor in advance is crucial for a smooth diving experience, and divers should be prepared for potentially cold water.
