This dive site features the wreck of "Kanonierka", lying on its keel with a slight tilt to starboard at a maximum depth of 31 meters. In April 2009, approximately one-third of the ship was destroyed by navy divers. Due to often strong currents, a significant amount of debris, including lines and nets, can be found hanging on the wreck, posing an increased risk of entanglement for divers. Navigation around the wreck requires careful attention to avoid these hazards and manage the currents.
The marine life encountered during a dive on the Kanonierka wreck includes species such as Cod and Flounder, which are typical inhabitants of the Baltic Sea. Divers may also have the rare opportunity to encounter Seals, adding an exciting element to the dive.
Given the strong currents and entanglement risks, this dive site is best suited for experienced divers comfortable with challenging conditions. It is advisable to dive with proper wreck diving training and equipment, including cutting tools. The cold water conditions in Poland typically necessitate dry suit diving. The best time to visit would depend on local weather and sea conditions, with calmer periods offering a more manageable dive.
