About this dive site
This dive site, Paradise Rock, is located in the Seychelles and centers around a large rock formation. Underneath the rock is a small cave with a short, easily navigable tunnel. The dive is relatively straightforward, circling the rock to observe the abundant marine life. No special navigation skills are required, but maintaining buoyancy and awareness are crucial, particularly near the rock and within the cave to avoid accidental contact with the structure.
The area around Paradise Rock teems with life. Expect to see various schools of reef fish, common to the Seychelles, along with larger animals such as nurse sharks, turtles, and numerous lobsters and crabs. The smaller creatures, such as snails and invertebrates are also plentiful, adding to the biodiversity of this site. You might also spot other crustaceans like shrimps and various types of corals and sponges.
The best time to visit Paradise Rock is during the dry season (May to October) when visibility is typically best and the sea conditions are calmer. For both divers and freedivers, it's crucial to be aware of potential currents, even if they're typically mild. Maintaining neutral buoyancy is recommended near the rock and in the cave to avoid harming the fragile environment. Remember to practice safe diving and freediving techniques.
