About this dive site

This dive site is Cala Santandria, located in Menorca, Spain. It's a sheltered cove accessible directly from the shore, making it ideal for beginners. Entry is possible from Santandria Beach or a rocky platform to the left of the cove. The underwater topography is relatively simple, making navigation easy even for novice divers. Night dives are particularly recommended due to the increased activity of some species.

The marine life is abundant and diverse. Divers can expect to see a large number of stingrays, along with various fish species such as seabreams, two-banded seabreams, ornate wrasses, striped red mullets, combers, painted combers, greater weevers, and wide-eyed flounders. The cove's relatively shallow depth allows for close encounters with this rich variety of life.

The best time to visit Cala Santandria for diving is during the warmer months, from May to October, when water temperatures are pleasant and visibility is typically at its best. Calm conditions prevail most often during these months, making for optimal diving experiences. It is recommended to check weather and sea conditions before your dive. Freedivers will appreciate the calm waters and relatively shallow depth ideal for practicing breath-hold techniques, while divers might want to bring a dive light for night diving to enhance the experience.
