This dive site, "Cueva de los jureles" (Cave of the Trevally), is situated within an impressive cliff face that naturally formed over time between the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This sea-opened cave offers a unique refuge for diverse marine life. Divers descend along the cliff before entering the spacious cave, which serves as a natural amphitheatre for observing the underwater world.
The cave and surrounding cliff are home to numerous species including large white trevally (jureles), various groupers, bream, and several species of stingrays. A highlight is a small, vibrant garden of gorgonians, adding delicate beauty to the rugged rock formations and providing habitat for smaller critters.
The best time to visit this dive site is generally year-round, benefiting from the Canary Islands' mild climate. Divers can expect a captivating experience exploring the unique topography of the cave and observing its abundant inhabitants. Both scuba divers and freedivers will appreciate the manageable depths and rich biodiversity.
