About this dive site
This dive site is the "Pecio Chocholita," a shipwrecked steamer that sank during the 1927 Huracán. The event, occurring on Holy Week (Semana Santa), was one of the most devastating in Almería's history, causing widespread destruction and loss of life across the province. The storm brought winds up to 25 meters per second and traveled 935 kilometers in just 24 hours – a significant deviation from the usual 150-200 kilometer range. The wreck now serves as a poignant reminder of this tragic event. It’s an opportunity to explore a historic site with its own unique story. The vessel lies on the seabed and offers an interesting dive experience.
