About this dive site
This dive site is located near Mouro Island, featuring a dramatic islet and surrounding gorges and rock formations. It's renowned for its diverse landscapes and abundant marine life. Divers can access the site from La Cala or by anchoring in the south of the island, allowing exploration of features like the cathedral and Cueva Grande with relatively low air consumption. The return trip through the gorge offers a visually stunning experience, sometimes appearing to close in before depositing divers near the boundary between the islet and the main landmass. The area is frequently populated by jargos, durdos, and centollos – a variety of fish species that add to the dive's appeal. This dive provides an intermediate level of challenge due to potential current variations during the return passage.
