About this dive site
This dive site presents the wreck of an English coal freighter, known as the "Miera." The vessel dates back to 1947 when it was acquired by the Nueva Montaña steel factory in Santander for use in supplying coal to Altos Hornos. A tragic incident occurred on a quiet December night in 1951 when the "Miera" collided with the merchant ship El Mogador, resulting in a head-on impact against its side near the bulkhead separating the holds. The wreck now rests at a depth of 42 meters outside the protection of Cabezo de la Vaca. This site offers an intriguing exploration for experienced divers. Visibility may vary depending on conditions.
