About this dive site

This dive site is located off the coast of Isla beach and was once slated for development, but now stands as a unique natural sanctuary. It provides refuge to various marine birds, including seagulls, shearwaters, and cormorants. This area is ideal for novice divers due to its shallow depths (0-16 meters) and excellent visibility. The dive takes place along the south wall of the island, revealing an extensive Posidonia oceanica meadow – a vibrant ecosystem with abundant life. This meadow supports herbivorous species, creating a stable and productive environment. A remarkable array of small marine creatures inhabits this area, including octopuses, groupers, conger eels, sea urchins, spiny lobsters, slipper limpets, and various other invertebrates. A small cave, accessible at approximately 3 meters depth on the south wall, offers a point of interest. Nearby, at 12 meters, you'll find a commemorative stone plaque honoring Jacques Cousteau. The seabed appears barren until closely examined, revealing a rich array of life.
