This dive site, known as Los Corredores or The Canyons, is located close to the coast of Cala Blanca in Spain. It is characterized by a series of tunnels running perpendicular to the coast, many with parts of their roofs collapsed, creating unique light effects. Often used as a course dive, it offers an engaging underwater navigation experience. For divers with adequate experience, an additional challenge is a vertical chimney, adding an element of cavern diving to the site.
The site boasts a vibrant array of marine life typical of the Mediterranean. Within the tunnels, divers can encounter cardinal fish, meagres, and the occasional grouper. Outside, the open areas are home to striped red mullets, white seabreams, two banded seabreams, ornate wrasse, rainbow wrasse, and various sea urchins.
While no specific best time to visit is mentioned, the Mediterranean typically offers optimal diving conditions from late spring through autumn. A flashlight is highly recommended to fully appreciate the details and inhabitants of the darker sections of the tunnels and chimney. The site's diverse topography and marine life make it suitable for both scuba divers and experienced freedivers, particularly those interested in exploring its unique geological formations.
