About this dive site

This dive site is located at Playa de Tufia, a small beach north of the airport in Spain. It's easily accessed via a pedestrian path from a nearby car park, although the uphill walk back can be strenuous. The underwater topography consists of a rocky bottom ranging in depth from 15 to 21 meters, though the maximum recommended depth is 15 meters. Navigation is straightforward, following the rocky reef which offers many crevices and interesting formations to explore.

The marine life at Tufia is quite diverse. You can expect to see numerous shoals of fish, along with fascinating smaller creatures like nudibranchs. Octopuses and rays are also common inhabitants of this rocky habitat. While larger pelagic species might not be as frequent, the abundance of smaller life makes this a great site for macro photography.

The best time to visit Tufia would likely be during the warmer months, from spring to autumn, when the water temperature is more comfortable and visibility is generally better. For freedivers, the relatively shallow depth and calm conditions make it an ideal location, especially for those practicing their skills or exploring the rich biodiversity. Divers should be aware of the steep incline back to the car park after the dive.
