About this dive site
This dive site presents a profoundly moving experience – the wreck of an early purpose-built aircraft carrier, tragically lost during World War II. The ship suffered approximately 40 direct hits from Japanese zero fighter bombers and sank within less than 30 minutes, resulting in the loss of 307 lives. Remarkably, over 400 crew members survived. Designated as a British war grave, this site is steeped in history and serves as a poignant memorial. The wreck’s immense scale offers an impressive exploration for experienced divers. Visibility can vary, impacting the dive experience, but it presents a significant historical artifact.
