About this dive site

This dive site, located off the coast of Stone Town on the island of Bawe, offers three distinct dive locations. The northern reef is a continuous coral wall, teeming with diverse marine life including cuttlefish, moray eels, seahorses, rainbow runners, and longfin batfish. Blue spotted stingrays and torpedo rays inhabit the sandy bottom. On the southern side, a shallow, expansive reef provides excellent snorkeling opportunities for beginners while deeper explorations reveal vibrant coral bommies. These bommies are home to massive Titan trigger fish, interspersed with sandy patches featuring giant barrel sponges. The area is particularly renowned for its turtle populations – both Green and Hawksbill turtles can frequently be observed. Visibility is good throughout the site.
