About this dive site

This dive site, known as Buddha Point, or locally as Hin Taa Toh or Buddha Rock, is a hidden gem situated off the coast of Chalok Baan Kao, in the south of Koh Tao. It's a shallow, quiet reef located at the edge of the bay close to Freedom Beach, making navigation straightforward over its gentle topography without complex features or historical accounts of its origin.

The site boasts a large variety of soft and hard corals, creating a vibrant underwater landscape. Divers can expect to encounter an abundance of small marine life, including small schools of fish, occasional turtles, octopus, crabs, and a diverse range of nudibranchs, making it a paradise for macro enthusiasts.

Buddha Point is ideal for beginners, snorkelers, and freedivers due to its accessible shallow depths and calm conditions. The best time to visit is generally during periods of calm weather, common throughout much of the year in Koh Tao, offering excellent conditions for exploring its rich biodiversity and enjoying a relaxed dive.
