About this dive site

This dive site is located on Mai Thon island, situated east of Chalong Bay and south of Phuket. It's reportedly owned by a member of the Thai royal family. Being close to Chalong Bay, it’s easily accessible for many diving boats. A unique feature of Mai Thon is its frequent association with local dolphins; approximately 60% of dives there have resulted in dolphin sightings – though these creatures are generally shy. Due to the typical wet season conditions, most dives are conducted on the island's eastern side. The site offers a maximum depth of around 12 meters, and visibility can be variable. Leopard sharks and turtles are occasionally spotted, but sightings are infrequent. Common reef inhabitants include eels and cuttlefish.
