About this dive site
This dive site, Blue Tunnel in Sarigerme, Turkey, is renowned as one of the top three dive sites in the country. The dive begins with an entrance at approximately 8 meters, leading into a tunnel with two atriums. Exiting the tunnel reveals a stunning wall dive into the open sea, forming a large circular route back to the boat. The unique underwater topography makes navigation relatively straightforward following the tunnel and wall.
The marine life encountered is diverse and exciting, with a chance to spot rays, seals, and turtles. While specific fish species are not listed, the open sea environment promises a wide array of colorful reef fish and pelagic species. The wall may also host diverse invertebrates and smaller reef inhabitants, promising opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (May-October) when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is generally higher. The open sea aspect makes conditions susceptible to variations. Experienced divers and those comfortable with moderate currents will appreciate this site; freediving is not recommended due to depth and potential currents.
