About this dive site
This dive site is located on the back of Black Island in Türkiye, at a depth of 12 meters. The main feature is a cave system, often referred to as 'Bubble Cave', characterized by shafts of light penetrating the water, creating a unique and spacious atmosphere. Divers enter the cave at 12 meters and navigate upwards through a chimney-like structure. Careful buoyancy control is essential to avoid damaging the delicate sponges and corals which line the walls.
The cave is rich in marine life. Divers can observe various species of wreckfish, tubeworms, and numerous types of fragile corals and sponges. The abundance of smaller marine organisms makes it suitable for macro photography. While larger fish may be present, they are not the main attraction.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (May-October) when water visibility is generally at its best. A dive light is always recommended, even though there is some natural light in the cave, to fully appreciate the beauty and detail. This dive is not suitable for beginners due to the cave environment and requires good buoyancy control. Freedivers should avoid this site due to the depth and the need to navigate a confined space.
