About this dive site
This dive site is located at Teos Corner, situated on the edge of the ancient city of Teos in the southwest of Sığacık, Türkiye. It's a relatively shallow dive, making it accessible to divers of all experience levels, but boat access is recommended due to the location. The dive site itself is characterized by a diverse mix of rocky formations and marine life, offering opportunities for both macro and wide-angle photography. Navigating underwater is straightforward, with a relatively flat bottom and clear visibility, making for an enjoyable and relaxing dive.
The marine life at Teos Corner is exceptionally rich. Divers can expect to see a wide variety of Mediterranean fish, including groupers, bream, and colourful smaller species. Abundant invertebrates, including crustaceans and nudibranchs, are common. This spot is particularly famous for its sightings of the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. While not guaranteed, the chance to encounter one adds to the special nature of this dive site.
The best time to visit Teos Corner is during the summer months (June-October) when the water is calmest and visibility is at its best. Sea conditions can be choppy in other months, affecting visibility. For both scuba divers and freedivers, this is an excellent site due to the calm conditions and relatively shallow maximum depth. Remember to always check the weather forecast and dive with a buddy.
