This dive site features the Cartanza Wreck, a popular beginner-friendly dive where the small shipwreck is broken into three distinct pieces. Divers can easily navigate around the sections of the wreck. While the core wreck reaches a maximum depth of 16 meters (41 feet), an adjacent deeper reef extends to 18 meters (60 feet), offering additional exploration opportunities.
The Cartanza Wreck and its surrounding reef are home to diverse marine life. Commonly sighted creatures include spotted moray eels, majestic green turtles, graceful hawksbill turtles, and Caribbean reef sharks. Smaller inhabitants like arrow crabs can be found nestled into the cracks and crevices of the shipwreck.
Known as Shipwreck Cove, this site is highly protected from wind, ensuring calm conditions year-round, making it an excellent destination for both divers and snorkelers. The presence of numerous moorings further simplifies access. It's an ideal spot for new divers to gain wreck diving experience and for nature lovers to observe marine fauna in a tranquil setting.
