About this dive site

This dive site features the wreck of the Jay Scutti, a tugboat deliberately sunk as an artificial reef off Fort Lauderdale. The vessel was purchased for $14,000 and subsequently destroyed with 45 pounds of dynamite in September 1986 by the Broward County Sheriff Department’s bomb squad. It rests on the seabed with its bow pointing northward and listing slightly to port. Divers can explore this wreck alongside several other nearby wrecks, including the Moonshot (formerly Sanctuary), the sailboat Pride (also known as Harbour Towne), and the B.H. Lake sailboat located north of the Jay Scutti. Further south are the remnants of the Ken Vitale (formerly Tracy), an offshore supply vessel, and the freighter Merci Jesus. The area offers a diverse wreck dive experience with a cluster of submerged vessels to explore.
