About this dive site

This dive site, also known as "Alki Cove 2" or "Cove 2", is a popular location in Seattle. Located at 1660 Harbor Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116, it offers access to the water via stairs leading down to a rocky beach. The dive area descends gradually to a maximum depth of 90 feet and features numerous artificial structures that provide habitat for diverse marine life. Navigation is aided by five yellow buoys marking a no-dive boat lane. Divers should plan accordingly, as currents are generally light with minimal tidal changes and a short swim out is expected. It’s important to dive within your skill level.

The site is known for its rich biodiversity. Expect to encounter nine species of nudibranchs, two octopus varieties, sea stars, sea cucumbers, plumose anemones, chimaeras, harbor seals, various rockfish and sculpin, lingcod, and multiple crab species. Facilities include public restrooms, limited parking (arrive early), and rinse showers (unavailable during the winter months).
