About this dive site

This dive site, located at Wash Rock, offers a unique exploration experience. The area features a lava tube that serves as an initial point of interest. Divers can begin their descent and swim through this geological formation, keeping an eye out for lobster, pipefish, and goatfish. Upon exiting the lava tube, the route leads across a sand channel to Wash Rock itself. Here, beneath the rocks in the channel, one might discover a viper moray residing within its home. Continuing around Wash Rock reveals a diverse array of marine life; look closely for frogfish and scorpionfish camouflaged on the rocks and corals – these are often difficult to spot. The area is also known for its abundance of snapper, bannerfish, and butterflyfish. A 3-minute safety stop is recommended upon returning to the mooring before ascending slowly to the surface and swimming back to the boat.
