For a unique piece of aviation history, divers can explore the Qantas S26 Sandringham Flying Boat, known as the 'Tasman'. This giant aircraft, with a wingspan of over 30 meters, met its end in 1951 after hitting a reef on takeoff. It now rests upright and largely intact at a depth of 40 meters in Port Vila Harbour. This is an advanced dive due to the depth and often limited visibility. Experienced divers are rewarded with the chance to explore this fascinating wreck, with opportunities to swim through the cockpit and spacious interior. The sheer size of the wings and the preserved structure make it a memorable and exhilarating dive.
