About this dive site
This dive site is renowned for its rich marine life and stunning underwater scenery. It’s a location steeped in history, having been the favorite of an Australian divemaster who worked at East End Explorers in the 1980s—his legacy lives on! Divers begin their exploration by swimming through the impressive Kangaroo Gorge, a deep swim-through. Alternatively, they can explore above the gorge. The site is known for its spectacular visibility thanks to occasional currents and boasts an abundance of coral coverage; every part of the reef is vibrant with corals and sponges. Nitrox divers will appreciate the extra bottom time offered by sand patches around 70 feet. Keep an eye out for Spotted Eagle Rays feeding on buried crustaceans – you’ll often see clouds of sand as they hunt! This dive site promises a memorable experience filled with beauty and fascinating marine creatures.
