Le Mahana Coral Garden

Located in the heart of Avea Bay on Huahine, the Le Mahana Coral Garden is a premier snorkeling spot, celebrated for its vibrant marine life and easy accessibility. Situated directly in front of Hotel Le Mahana, this "house reef" offers an unforgettable underwater experience for snorkelers of all skill levels. The clear, calm water makes it an ideal location for beginners and families, while the more adventurous can explore deeper areas of the reef.

The Le Mahana Coral Garden is a vibrant natural aquarium. It’s teeming with a diverse array of tropical fish and is especially known for its extensive anemone gardens, which are home to countless clownfish. You can also expect to see schools of emperors, wrasses, and regal angelfish, among others. The pillars of the hotel's jetty provide a safe haven for snappers and schools of batfish, making for an excellent photo opportunity.

This fantastic snorkeling spot is easily accessed directly from the hotel's white-sand beach or its pontoon. The shallow waters near the shore give way to a sloping reef that descends to depths of up to 20 feet, allowing for exploration of a more diverse underwater landscape.

If you are not hotel guest, you'll need to consume something at their restaurant to access the beach. Otherwise you can walk to the south of the hotel and access the beach through a really small lane.
