This dive site, the Boga Wreck, offers an exciting alternative to Tulamben’s famous Liberty Wreck. Located just off Kubu village—north of Tulamben—it’s sometimes called the "Kubu Wreck" by locals.
Once an Indonesian government patrol vessel, the ship was deliberately sunk in 2012 to create an artificial reef. Now lying 60 meters offshore, the 45-meter-long wreck rests on a sandy slope, its bow pointing toward the beach and its propeller descending into the depths. Unlike the Liberty, the Boga remains largely intact, revealing fascinating details like a wooden steering wheel on the upper deck, Buddha statues, and even a submerged Volkswagen inside.
With depths ranging from 18 to 40 meters, this site is best suited for advanced divers—making it perfect for deep-dive training.
