About this dive site

This dive site is located on the eastern tip of Bali, specifically at the small island of Gili Selang. The area presents a mix of inviting scenery and potentially challenging conditions due to exposed areas with up, down, and swirling currents. AquaMarine prioritizes careful planning, utilizing local knowledge, tide charts, and experience when selecting dive locations. Divers are advised to pay close attention during the briefing and maintain proximity to their guide for safety. The dive typically begins on a black sand slope adorned with nudibranchs and various macro invertebrates like gobies. This slope gradually transitions into a healthy, sheltered reef at approximately 4 meters deep, characterized by a vibrant array of soft and hard corals. Visibility ranges from 20 to 25 meters, although thermoclines can occur, resulting in water temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. Common sightings include Yellow margin morays, schooling Big-eyed trevally, cuttlefish, and pygmy seahorses inhabiting Gorgonian sea fans. Further north of the island, a rich sand slope features branching corals and occasional bommies; deeper areas offer protection to sea fans, soft corals, barrel sponges, and coral bushes.
