About this dive site

This dive site, located at Punta Campanella, marks the southern boundary of the Gulf of Naples and the northern edge of the Gulf of Salerno. It’s known as the Minervae Promontory, a historically significant area where ancient Greek and Roman ships once awaited favorable weather to round the headland. The region boasts incredibly diverse topography, providing a range of natural settings for each dive. You'll transition between rocky boulder fields, abundant with crevices, and degrading plateaus covered by extensive carpets of vibrant red gorgonians. Overhanging walls are adorned with dense colonies of yellow gorgonians, leading into small caves where you might encounter swarms of parapandali (Plesionika narwhal).
