About this dive site
This dive site, Punta Della Targhetta, offers an accessible and enjoyable wall dive experience. Divers descend to a depth of 10 meters, where a stunning wall covered in parazoantus sponges begins. Orientation is straightforward, making it suitable for less experienced divers. The dive progresses along the wall, allowing for exploration of diverse marine environments.
The marine life is quite rich and varied. The yellow parazoantus sections teem with numerous nudibranchs, offering excellent macro photography opportunities. Further out in the bluer water, divers can observe hunting snappers and lively damselfish, showcasing the site's biodiversity.
The best time to visit Punta Della Targhetta is likely during the warmer months, from May to October, when water temperatures are most comfortable and visibility is generally higher. For freedivers, this location is an excellent choice due to its easy navigation, gentle currents, and abundant life at shallower depths. Divers should remember to maintain buoyancy control to avoid damaging the delicate parazoantus and other marine life.
