About this dive site

This dive site is the Relitto Haven, a massive supertanker wreck resting off the coast of Arenzano, Italy. The 334m long wreck sits at depths ranging from the surface to 49 meters, offering a complex and fascinating dive for both recreational and technical divers. Navigation involves exploring the various decks, internal compartments (for experienced divers), and the surrounding seabed. The ship sank in 1991 due to a fire, leaving a dramatic and intriguing underwater landscape.

Marine life around the Haven wreck is diverse, though not exceptionally abundant in large numbers. You can expect to see various fish species common to the Mediterranean, including groupers, snappers, and smaller reef fish. The wreck itself provides habitat for numerous invertebrates. Over time, the wreck is becoming a rich artificial reef, attracting an increasing number of species.

The best time to visit is during the summer months (June-September) when water temperatures are warmest and visibility is typically at its best. Divers should be aware of potential currents, especially around the wreck's structure. Because of the depth, proper planning and appropriate training are crucial. This is not suitable for freediving due to the depth and potential for entanglement.
