About this dive site

This dive site, Relitto Neuralia, is a fascinating wreck dive located off the coast of Torre Inserraglio, about 4 miles from Santa Caterina, Italy. The wreck itself is a substantial structure, measuring 33 meters long and 110 meters wide, lying on a sandy bottom. Its impressive size is visible even from the shallower depths of the descent. The dive is a square exploration of this large wreck, offering plenty to see and explore.

The rich biodiversity of the site is remarkable. Among the wreck's sheets and structures, you'll find a variety of marine life, including saragos, groupers, lobsters, bream, moray eels, and conger eels. Numerous sponges have concreted the sheets, providing additional texture and interest to the dive. The site is particularly known for its abundance of nudibranchs, a favorite amongst underwater photographers.

The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (spring and summer) when visibility is typically better and the water temperature is more pleasant. While the maximum depth is 31 meters, the average depth is approximately 15 meters, making it manageable for intermediate divers. Experienced freedivers might find some areas suitable for shallow exploration, but full scuba gear is recommended for a comprehensive experience of the whole wreck. Strong currents are not expected; however, it is recommended to check local conditions before diving.
