About this dive site

This dive site is Scoglio della Triglia, a rocky outcrop located south of the Gulf of Marina di Campo, Elba Island, Italy. Navigation is relatively straightforward, following the contours of the rock formation. The site's varied depths and crevices offer plenty of exploration opportunities for divers of all levels. There is no known specific history or story associated with the site itself, other than its reputation for its rich marine life.

The abundant marine life is a highlight, with common sightings including barracuda, snappers, octopus, moray eels, and conger eels. Depending on the season, you might also encounter amberjack and tuna. The rocky structure provides habitat for a diverse range of smaller creatures, making it ideal for macro photography.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months (spring through fall), when visibility is typically better and a wider variety of fish are present. For freedivers, the shallow to medium depths and generally mild currents make it a suitable site. Divers should be mindful of potential variations in currents depending on weather conditions.
