About this dive site
This dive site presents a challenging wreck experience – the Le Polynesian, a French passenger ship sunk in 1918. Located approximately 7 nautical miles east of Valletta Port, and at coordinates 35.8576°N 14.6051°E, this vessel lies at an angle with a maximum depth of 65 meters. The wreck is considered relatively intact, although significant damage occurred in the engine room due to the torpedo strike. Highlights include visible anchor chains and a front deck cannon. Cargo bay contents consist primarily of motorbike tires and pipes. Structural damage is evident on the stern, but impeccably preserved deck cannons and propellers remain. Scattered throughout the passenger area, divers may discover remnants such as baths, bed frames, and light fixtures. This dive is exclusively for experienced divers due to strong currents and its considerable depth, requiring technical diving skills. Interested in learning more about technical diving?
