This dive site presents a fascinating wreck experience – the Ekkai Maru. Located at depths of 12 to 16 meters, this vessel offers a unique underwater exploration. The port side is adorned with vibrant hard corals, while scorpion fish frequently inhabit the area around the wreck. For certified wreck divers, penetrating the large cargo rooms and engine room is possible. During sunny days between 10 am and 2 pm, shafts of sunlight filtering through holes in the port side create a spectacular cathedral-like effect within the holds. You can even explore the ship from bow to stern without needing to surface. A particular highlight lies in the two massive boilers located centrally – a testament to the ship’s past, offering an opportunity to witness damage sustained during a bombing incident. Keep a watchful eye and maintain neutral buoyancy for optimal enjoyment of this remarkable dive.
