About this dive site

This dive site is located at the Tygerberg formation, a dark rock ridge with various names including Blouklip, Blousteen and Bloukrans. The mountain range behind the site is known as the Blousteenberge, and its peak is Rooielsberg. The maximum depth here is approximately 17 meters. The area offers interesting underwater topography, starting with moderate-sized boulders and outcrops near shore. As you descend, the terrain transitions to lower areas at around 10 meters, featuring fairly flat gravel beds. Further out, expect more outcrops, some flat shale reef, additional gravel beds, and scattered patches of sand among the rocks and gravel. Marine life enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundance of nudibranchs – from Gas flame and Scribbled varieties. Cape fur seals are occasionally spotted in the area. Macro photography is particularly well-suited for capturing these details. Visibility is excellent.
