About this dive site
This dive site, known as 'Friskies,' has a unique history. It was named after a frisky seal that accompanied divers on the first recorded trip to the reef. The site features a compact pinnacle rising approximately 10 meters above the sand and surrounded by boulders – some quite large – with a more scattered group of large boulders located north-east of the main pinnacle. A smaller, lower pinnacle called North Friskies is situated about 100 meters east-north-east from the main site and includes a small amount of lower reef to the east. Maximum depth reaches around 22 meters, with the top of the main pinnacle at approximately 12 meters. The average depth is likely around 15 meters. Visibility is good for macro photography. Marine life includes large red bait pods in shallower areas and numerous strawberry anemones throughout. It's an interesting location for underwater photographers.
