About this dive site
This dive site is located on Aliwal Shoal, a popular and renowned reef system. Raggies Cave offers a captivating underwater experience due to its intricate formations of coral and sponge-encrusted rocks. The area provides excellent opportunities for observing diverse marine life, including various nudibranchs, eels, and stonefish – collectively referred to as ‘critters.’ The main highlight is the presence of ragged tooth sharks (also known as grey nurse sharks), which frequently visit the reef during their mating season between late May and November. The maximum depth at this location is 18 meters.
