About this dive site

This dive site is located along a convex coastline, near the resort called Rocky Bay. The area features sandstone ridges and gullies running parallel to the shore, which slopes gradually downwards with increasing depth. Anchorage can be challenging due to the steep shoreline that reflects waves, creating bumpy conditions in swells. The shingle bottom provides a stable substrate encrusted with benthic organisms. Visibility is good around the reefs, where you may encounter basket stars, Galjoen in the inshore gullies, and a diverse range of invertebrates. Notable features include Peacock fan worms at approximately 200 meters offshore, solitary squirts of various species, common feather stars, golden cucumbers, encrusting sponges, and a few small sea fans. The depth increases quickly from the shore, with outcrops becoming sparser with distance.
