About this dive site
This dive site, named Rooi-els Point, is located in a region characterized by moderate reefs. The reef structure consists of ridges running approximately north-south and features rugged sandstone formations with gullies. These ridges are generally broken and of varying heights, sitting on moderately consistent bottom depth. Occasionally, small patches of sand can be found within the gully areas, but primarily, the seabed is rocky. The maximum recorded depth is around 20 meters, though most dives occur between 12 and 17 meters. Visibility extends to 50-100 meters offshore, with a colorful marine environment present in deeper waters. The area offers good opportunities for macro photography. You'll find abundant bryozoans, sponges, corals, and colonial ascidians along the reef, including dense kelp forests near the shore and further north. The location is suitable for exploring various underwater habitats and observing diverse marine life.
