About this dive site
This dive site is located near the lighthouse of Cap de Cavalleria, a small beach called Cala Viola de Ponent. The area benefits from exceptionally clear water, making it ideal for introductory scuba diving courses. It falls within the northern Marine Reserve and offers an opportunity to encounter marine life such as barracuda and, with luck, seahorses while exploring the cove. Just outside the cove, at a depth of 9 meters, lies a large aluminium mast. Further along, at approximately 16 meters, rests the remains of the 20-meter long aluminium yacht ‘Chrisaldy’. The area is also rich in historical artifacts, including ancient amphorae – similar finds have been discovered in nearby Sanisera, which once housed a Roman harbor. This site provides a fascinating glimpse into both underwater ecosystems and maritime history.
