About this dive site

This dive site presents the Ocean Diver, a small Dutch cargo vessel resting in shallow waters. The wreck's history is fascinating; it was once used for tobacco smuggling between Mediterranean ports and North Africa before being seized by the Spanish Coast Guard. After years of weathering in Mahón harbor, the ship was intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef. Located directly in front of the dive center, the Ocean Diver stands upright at a depth of 28 meters. This wreck has become a vibrant habitat for various marine life, including groupers and sea snails. It’s a compelling dive offering glimpses into maritime history combined with underwater ecosystems.
