About this dive site
This dive site presents The Conch, a remarkably preserved steam-powered oil tanker. Constructed in 1892 for Shell in Stockton and weighing 3555 tons, the vessel sank on June 2nd, 1903 after striking a rock during its journey from Novorossisk to Madras. The wreck rests on a rocky bottom with stable visibility. A particularly interesting feature is the possibility of penetrating into the cabin, which currently houses cave-dwelling inhabitants. This site offers an excellent opportunity for encountering various reef fish, including groupers, napoleons, and queen angelfish. It’s a fascinating historical dive.
