This dive site, known as Gröne Jägaren, presents a poignant historical wreck experience. Located near ‘kycklingen’ and the area where cannons were being attached to ‘Riksäpplet’, this wreck holds a dramatic story of maritime disaster. The ship, a wooden linjeskepp, tragically sank in 1676 due to an accident involving careless food preparation that caused its powder magazine to explode, resulting in the loss of all 18 crew members. Diving Gröne Jägaren is a challenging endeavor due to its history and potential instability. Visibility at the site is uncertain given the wreck’s condition. No marine life is currently known to inhabit this site.
