About this dive site
This dive site is located west of Halifax, easily accessible from the Hwy #103. The route involves taking exit #5 and proceeding along Hwy #3 westward towards Hubbards. You’ll find it in the community of Boutiliers Point, where a Provincial Park offers picnic tables, a boat launch ramp, and a working fishing wharf. This is a generally easy site to navigate, with options for diving straight from the wharf or exploring marine life to the west. The seabed consists of small boulders and gravels in shallow areas, gradually transitioning to mud and soft bottom organisms deeper down. Average depths range between 33ft (10m) and a maximum of 60ft (18.3m). Be mindful of parking regulations, especially during summer months when locals utilize the ramp area. Before diving, create your own safety plan, knowing your buddy’s information and establishing procedures for emergencies like low-air situations, buddy separation, or injured divers. Remember to watch out for lobster traps, fishing buoys, and potential surges (especially with southwesterly winds). Cell phone coverage is available in the area. A local fire department is located at the beginning of the 329 Hwy.
