About this dive site
This dive site is located approximately ½ mile north of the 1962 Ridgefield wreck, situated past the East Channel. It’s an iconic location within the East End region and offers a remarkable underwater landscape characterized by extensive caverns, canyons, swim-through passages, windows, and overhangs – a truly captivating environment for experienced divers. The reef supports a vibrant ecosystem with diverse marine life, including colorful reef fish and occasional larger pelagic species. Diving is subject to weather conditions due to exposure to wind and currents, requiring ideal visibility and calm seas. Access to this site requires boat charters to obtain a dive permit in advance from the Department of Environment (DoE), ensuring the preservation of its delicate marine environment while allowing divers to explore one of the Cayman Islands’ most significant underwater destinations.
